Is this guide about all crafting?

No.

What do blacksmiths make?

In general blacksmiths make stuff made out of metal or metals.
At the current time in Vanguard Blacksmiths can make:
-Runes (kind of like potions)
-Horseshoes (speed up and/or stabalize your horse)
-Barding (slows your horse down but makes it harder to knock you off of him).
-Ranged Ammo (just about every crafter can make arrows/bolts and shuriken, although a friend tells me high level rangers can always make better).
-Armorsmiths can make 9 pieces of armor.
-Weaponsmiths can make some weapons

What goes into a Suit of Armor:
There are typically 9 pieces of armor to a suit of armor. If you count the shield you can make it 10. We will use the same grid format as found on your character information in vgplayers, the 4 x 5 layout which leave spots for other non-armor items that are needed to properly design, complete, and improve your gear/armor set as you grow. I have decided to just make website table a brief example for now, and instead will put a link to the word file. Someday I might even get a form made so you can fill out the form and place your order! Someday.....
You can use this table below to get an idea of the level of complexity involved in crafting each piece. Also, remember that many dusts/powders/crystals can only be used in certain slots. Enjoy !

Now each square in the above table has statistics associated with it.
Things like AC a term that used to mean "Armor Class" in D&D now appropriated by various games and organizations. It now means something closer to "basic armor rating" and for the purposes of our discussions here we will call AC 'basic armor class rating total' where total may be a single item such as a pair of gloves or "guantlets" in Armorsmithing Terminology, or a complete set of adventuring gear and it's base AC item totals added up for combat purposes before any formula's or other game mechanics modify it.
